The First of Seven Iberian Lynx Released

The first two lynx were released this week in the Mértola region. The program by the ICNF is to release a total of 7 this month. The lynx were all born last year in breeding programmes throughout Iberia, writes the Portugal News.

The Iberian lynx (Lynx pardinus) is a wild cat species endemic to the Iberian Peninsula in southwestern Europe. It is listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List (Wikipedia).
