Move Me Abroad was started in 2011 as a way to help people in the EU move around. Although it was primarily aimed at the UK we also had other writers who would write for other populations throughout the EU. In that time Brexit wasn’t even on the horizon and moving abroad was extremely popular.
Since 2016 and the shock Brexit result this blog has pretty much been abandoned, although the Twitter feed was kept going. It took a long time to decide what to do with the Move Me Abroad site.
Then in 2020 I made a similarly shock decision to leave the UK permanently and move back to Portugal. This has given me the impetus to restart this blog. I thought long and hard about whether I should use this blog and the Twitter account seen at the site would now be Portugal-focused. But I decided that it would make sense to carry it on as a progression of the whole reason behind Move Me Abroad.
So the site is now all about moving to and living in Portugal but I have kept some of the old posts in the archives for information purposes. Thank you for visiting the site and I hope you find the information here useful.
